This Month's Featured Project

This project takes the first step toward restoration of a fully functional estuary for Aliso Creek. It will develop a Conceptual Restoration Plan to restore coastal wetland habitats designed to support a wide range of fish and wildlife, including listed species. The Conceptual Restoration Plan will be developed through a stakeholder-driven process that builds consensus for restoration and identifies objectives, constraints and feasible design alternatives.

Do you want to help support an ocean-related cause? We'll match your interests with the ideal project. Choose one of our funds below, or contact us for more personalized assistance.

The Ocean Foundation recently created a Friends of Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network that will mobilize high-level national and international donor commitments that will contribute to the implementation of the  Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network (GOA-ON).

The “Our Ocean” Conference at the U.S. Department of State focused on concrete actions to help protect the ocean. The launch of this fund is The Ocean Foundation's contribution to finding a solution for the global ocean acidification problem.

Attempt to Down List Manatees
There is an attempt to "down list" manatees from endangered to threatened.   We encourage you to send the attached one-page "comment" letter as provided to the US Fish & Wildlife service, who is considering this challenge. Comment letters must be signed with name and address and submitted by September 6, 2014.

We greatly value your choice to give a gift to The Ocean Foundation and so, we work hard to make sure you can give with confidence. We have achieved the highest rating on Charity Navigator and are a Silver Level participant on GuideStar Exchange.

Only 6% of nonprofits have a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator, which means we outperform most other nonprofits when it comes to transparency. This means your gift goes further in helping us remain a leader in the ocean conservation field.
