The Ocean Foundation and Absolut Vodka began a corporate partnership in 2008 as part of Absolut’s Global Cooling™ campaign. The multi-year green marketing campaign encouraged consumers to reduce effects of global warming and register to give one dollar of every bottle purchased to an eco charity.  The proceeds were directed to restore seagrass beds around major metropolitan coastal areas. This partnership restored more than 4,000 square feet of damaged seagrass located at Knight’s Key Bank in the NOAA Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.

Alaskan Brewing Co. (ABC) is dedicated to crafting really good beer, and really good philanthropy. ABC began a corporate partnership with The Ocean Foundation in 2007 to create the Coastal CODE Fund. ABC committed 1% of all proceeds from the sale of Alaskan IPA and $5 from the sales of its One Beer t-shirt to support the cleanup and preservation of the Pacific Ocean and its coastlines.

From 2006 to 2010, our consultation led to the creation of the St. Kitts Foundation, a fund within The Ocean Foundation that dedicated 1% of gross sales from the South Peninsula Resort back into the community. On March 31, 2008, we completed our 18-month Phase One contract to design, create, and prepare the St. Kitts Foundation for full operations. This included the finalization of the formation of our St. Kitts Foundation as a charitable foundation under the law of the Federation.

Columbia’s focus on outdoor conservation and education make them a leading innovator in outdoor apparel. This corporate partnership began in 2008, with a contribution to TOF’s SeaGrass Grow Campaign, planting and restoring seagrass in Florida. For the past 6 years, Columbia has provided high quality in-kind gear that our projects rely on to perform field work critical to ocean conservation.

The Ocean Foundation works with SeaWeb and Diversified Communications to offset the estimated carbon emissions of their Annual SeaWeb Sustainable Seafood Summit core activities through the SeaGrass Grow project.  During the  2013, 2015 and 2016 summits, attendees are offered the opportunity to offset their carbon emissions incurred through travel to the summit.

EcoBee Inc. and The Ocean Foundation (TOF) have partnered together to support conservation efforts that are working to restore coral reefs and advance research and education of coral reef ecosystems. 

Economist Events chose The Ocean Foundation as the official offset provider for their 3rd Annual World Oceans Summit in 2015. Through The Ocean Foundation's SeaGrass Grow project, Economist Events offered attendees of the summit to use the innovative Blue Carbon methodology to naturally offset their greenhouse gas emissions of their travel associated with the event.

Fragrant Jewels is a California based bath bomb and candle company, and the flagship brand of Gravity Brands. They partnered with The Ocean Foundation on an Earth Day bath bomb in 2017 donating eight percent of their net sales to our 71% initiative. 

IGZU is launching the first ever bottled bamboo leaf tea, a healthy beverage made from sustainable ingredients. The partnership between IGZU and The Ocean Foundation began in 2015, prior to the brand's launch. IGZU is now ready for production and will donate a percentage of their sales to The Ocean Foundation. Their brand's representation for the exuberance [IGZU=ig-ˈzü-b(ə-)rən(t)s] for life goes hand in hand with the passion we all feel for the ocean.

The International Sea Turtle Society (ISTS) selected The Ocean Foundation’s SeaGrass Grow project as the offset partner for it's 32nd, 33rd and 35th Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation. ISTS used the innovative Blue Carbon methodology to naturally offset our emissions from participant travel and accommodations as well as energy use during meeting sessions and events through seagrass restoration and protection.

A foundation partnership was formed in 2010 to create the ISSF Sea Turtle Fund. This fund supports grassroots, science-based sea turtle conservation programs and emphasizes the critical need for social change for the recovery of a species. Together, we have raised over $306,000 to support protection of critical nesting sites for endangered Western Pacific Leatherbacks, recovery of foraging and nesting populations of the critically endangered Eastern Pacific Hawksbill, and reduce bycatch of turtles in Peru.

The Ocean Foundation partnered with jetBlue Airways in 2013 to focus on the long-term health of the Caribbean's oceans and beaches. This corporate partnership sought to determine the economic value of clean beaches to strengthen protection of destinations and ecosystems upon which travel and tourism depend. TOF provided expertise in environmental data collection while jetBlue provided their proprietary industry data. jetBlue named the concept “EcoEarnings: A Shore Thing” after their belief that business could be positively tied to shorelines.

The Ocean Foundation worked with Kerzner International in the design and creation of the Kerzner Marine Foundation, its grantmaking strategy and procedures, and in hiring their first CEO. The Blue Project, part of the Kerzner Marine Foundation, has provided over $1 million in grants to support marine science in the Bahamas.

The Ocean Foundation created a Resort Partnership Lasting Legacy Model, designing and consulting for the philanthropy arms of the sustainable resort developments in Loreto Bay, Mexico. Our resort partnership model provides a turn-key meaningful and measurable Community Relations platform for resorts. This public-private partnership provides a lasting environmental legacy for the local community for future generations.  

Luke's Lobster has partnered with The Ocean Foundation to establish the Luke's Lobster Donor Advised Fund (DAF) to support their long-term commitment to the coastal communities where their seafood comes from, and waterways around the cities that are home to their 30+ locations around the U.S. The Fund's mission is to keep waterways healthy and to strengthen economic opportunities for the fishing communities in Maine and Canada where their sustainably caught lobster is sourced.

The Ocean Foundation (TOF) served on the Environmental Program Advisory Group for the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation to design and develop its environment grantmaking program.

 

Metal Marvels has dedicated a 5% portion of the proceeds from the sale of their "I am giving" bracelet sales to The Ocean Foundation's 71% initiative. 

North Coast Brewing Co. partnered with The Ocean Foundation to establish the North Coast Brewing Marine Mammal Fund, supported by the sale of their Stellar IPA beer and merchandise. Proceeds from those sales go to The Marine Mammal Center based in Sausalito, the Noyo Center for Marine Science in Fort Bragg, and the Marine Mammal Research Unit at The University of British Columbia. The Stellar IPA and 12 other year-round beers by North Coast have been certified Non-GMO, making North Coast Brewing Co. the second brewery in the US to achieve this certification. 

In 2014, Numi became a founding member of TOF’s Field Research Partnership Program, providing high quality tea products to projects completing critical conservation work. Numi celebrates the planet through their thoughtful choices of organic tea, eco-responsible packaging, offsetting carbon emissions, and minimizing supply chain waste.

The Ocean Foundation (TOF) and the Pacific Life Foundation are mutually committed to the preservation and conservation of the highly endangered humpback whale in North America. Pacific Life sports the humpback whale as its logo, the focus of their advertising campaign, and have instilled a whale theme throughout their corporate headquarters. 

In June 2015, Papa’s Pilar announced a partnership that would make Papa Hemingway proud. In a grassroots effort to make “Papa” proud, the award-winning artisan-crafted rum, and The Ocean Foundation partnered in their efforts to protect and restore oceans and coastal environments around the world. A partnership with The Ocean Foundation is a perfect fit for Papa’s Pilar, given its dedication to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments, and Hemingway’s commitment to conservation.

que Bottle is a California-based sustainable product design company specializing in 100% plastic-and-BPA-free collapsible water bottles. This sustainable business chose to donate 10% of their total lightweight, compact and stylish bottle sales for three months to The Ocean Foundation in 2018.

In 2011 The Ocean Foundation (TOF) helped launch the Rockefeller Ocean Strategy, which seeks to identify profitable investment opportunities that restore and support the health and sustainability of the world’s oceans. In this effort, Rockefeller Capital Management has collaborated with The Ocean Foundation to gain specialized insight and research on marine trends, risks and opportunities, as well as analysis of coastal and ocean conservation initiatives.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which operates Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Cruises, established the Ocean Fund in 1996 to support marine conservation organizations in conserving the world's oceans. In 2011, The Ocean Foundation designed Royal Caribbean’s plan to respond and adapt to climate change, as well as their new “Conserve the Caribbean" campaign.

 

SaltWater Brewing Company knows how critical healthy seagrass meadows are to prime fishing habitat and other recreational activities. They have partnered with The Ocean Foundation to donate a portion of sales of their Sea Cow Stout during promotional activities to the restoration and protection of seagrass in Florida.

Straws For Good seeks to relieve the carbon footprint that society has contributed to since the 1960's. Their mission is to better the environment, one straw at a time.

Sustainable Restaurant Group is the world's first restaurant company to understand its carbon footprint down to the individual menu item. In 2017, we partnered with Sustainable Restaurant Group to offset their carbon footprint with our SeaGrass Grow program. 

Suzanne Pemberton is a painter in New York City. She is donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of her paintings to The Ocean Foundation. You can find Suzanne's paintings at her website here.

The Poké Company offers, "Sushi in a Bowl" to patrons in Palm Beach, Florida. They dedicate a portion of all their Saturday sales to The Ocean Foundation and are working with TOF towards offering the most sustainable seafood options possible in their restaurants. 

As designers and innovators, customers look to the company for ideas and information. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation aims to be seen as environmental stewards by obtaining precious materials in ways that are socially and environmentally responsible.

Tropicalia is an ‘eco resort’ project in the Dominican Republic. In 2008, Fundación Tropicalia was formed to actively support the socioeconomic development of adjacent communities in the municipality of Miches where the resort is being developed. In 2013, The Ocean Foundation (TOF) was contracted to develop the first annual United Nations (UN) Sustainability Report for Tropicalia based on the UN Global Compact's ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

The Ocean Foundation had the distinct opportunity to work with the Sailors of the Sea and the Volvo Ocean Race to offset carbon emission of the activities related to the USA stopover in Newport, Rhode Island in 2015 with the Seagrass Grow project.
