Partnerships

Our partners care about the health of the ocean, as well as offsetting their carbon emissions. Since 2008, they’ve helped support SeaGrass Grow in a variety of ways.

 

Absolut Vodka

In 2008 ABSOLUT Vodka and The Ocean Foundation teamed up to restore seagrass beds in coastal areas around major metropolitan areas. As part of the ABSOLUT Global Cooling™ campaign, ABSOLUT made a donation that restored more than 4,000 square feet of damaged seagrass located at Knight’s Key Bank in the NOAA Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.

 

AquaTech Eco

Aqua Tech Eco is The Ocean Foundation’s primary contractor and consultant in the Florida, Gulf and Caribbean areas.

 

Aquatic Ecosystem Solutions

The Ocean Foundation worked with Aquatic Ecosystem solutions as their contractor to perform a restoration project to offset the carbon footprint of the 2014 Tortuga Music Festival.

 

Bass Pro Shops

The branded “Save the Seagrass” shirts were sold through participating realtors such as Bass Pro Shops.

 

Columbia Sportswear

In 2010 Columbia Sportswear partnered with The Ocean Foundation to Save the Seagrass. Columbia made special “save the seagrass” shirts and t-shirts to promote restoration of seagrass habitat because it directly relates to key fishing areas in Florida and many other places.

Economist 3rd World Oceans Summit (2015)

Economist Events chose The Ocean Foundation as the official offset provider for their 3rd Annual World Oceans Summit in 2015. Through The Ocean Foundation's SeaGrass Grow project, Economist Events offered attendees of the summit to use the innovative Blue Carbon methodology to naturally offset their greenhouse gas emissions of their travel associated with the event.

 

 

IGZU

IGZU is launching the first ever bottled bamboo leaf tea, a healthy beverage made from sustainable ingredients. The partnership between IGZU and The Ocean Foundation began in 2015, prior to the brand's launch. IGZU is now ready for production and will donate a percentage of their sales to The Ocean Foundation. Their brand's representation for the exuberance [IGZU=ig-ˈzü-b(ə-)rən(t)s] for life goes hand in hand with the passion we all feel for the ocean.

 

International Seafood Summit 2012

The Ocean Foundation worked with SeaWeb and Seafood Choices to offset the estimated carbon emissions from the 2012 Summit activities.

 

 

International Sustainable Seafood Summit (2015)

The Ocean Foundation worked with SeaWeb and Diversified Communications to offset the estimated carbon emissions from the 2015 Summit core activities in New Orleans. Participants were again offered the opportunity to offset their carbon emissions incurred through travel to the summit. The Ocean Foundation was chosen as the Summit’s partner due its focus on ocean habitats in developing a new way to naturally offset greenhouse gas emissions in the ocean—known as blue carbon.

 

 

SeaWeb International Sustainable Seafood Summit (2016)

The Ocean Foundation worked with SeaWeb and Diversified Communications to offset the estimated carbon emissions from the 2016 Summit activities in Malta. Participants had the opportunity to offset their carbon emissions incurred through travel to the summit.

 

In2green

In2green is an eco-luxury lifestyle brand offering sustainable textile products - all made in the USA! The Ocean Foundation started a partnership with In2Green for our SeaGrass Grow Campaign, for which they generously donated an eco-throw!  In2Green's makes many of it's products from recycled cotton, a material safe to wash that won’t end up in waterways and eventually the ocean. Friends of The Ocean Foundation can use the code TOF10 to get 10% off their purchase and In2Green will donate an additional 10% to The Ocean Foundation.

 

SaltWater Brewery

SaltWater Brewery knows how critical healthy seagrass meadows are to prime fishing habitat and other recreational   activities. They have partnered with The Ocean Foundation to donate a portion of sales of their Sea Cow Stout  during promotional activities to the restoration and protection of seagrass in Florida.

 

Seagrass Recovery

The Ocean Foundation has worked with Seagrass Recovery as the service provider for the restoration of seagrass meadows off the coasts of Florida, New York, California and Washington.

 

Stern Fishing

Stern Fishing is a veteran owned company committed to providing the highest quality products that enhance your outdoor experience while maintaining a steadfast commitment to our fragile ecosystem. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Stern Fishing Products are donated to SeaGrass Grow!

 

 

Volvo Ocean Race (2015)

The Ocean Foundation has the opportunity to work with the Sailors of the Sea and the Volvo Ocean Race to offset the activities related to the USA stopover in Newport, Rhode Island in 2015.

The International Sea Turtle Society selected The Ocean Foundation’s SeaGrass Grow project as the offset partner for it's Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation. ISTS used our innovative Blue Carbon methodology to naturally offset our emissions from participant travel and accommodations as well as energy use during meeting sessions and events through seagrass restoration and protection.
